Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
to ALL
IFHYL Families
The IFHYL wish to express their gratitude to all the IFHYL families and players who attended the IFHYL end of year and combined Christmas party at the treasure Island GAA Clubhouse. Special thanks to all those that contributed to the pot luck buffet. Thanks to all the Hurling All Stars who participated in the training sessions with our young hurlers. The whole day was very enjoyable and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
Special thanks to the Chicago under 13 and under 16 teams who joined us for the weekend festivities. Colm Egan and his Chicago Youth Hurlers made it a very unique experience for the San Francisco Youth Hurlers who under the guidance of hurling coordinator Terry Walsh and his dedicated coaches put on a great display of youth hurling.
We hope that the Sunday All Star games were equally enjoyable for all. The day started with the recently organized College Hurling All Stars competing against San Francisco's youngest adult Hurling team, the S.F. Rovers. Following the Colleges, the San Francisco youth under 13's faced off against the Chicago youth under 13. The last youth game was played between San Francisco's under 16's and Chicago under 16's. This was a highlight for the San Francisco youth Hurlers as they won both games. The premier game of the day was the teams and supporters from Ireland out to enjoy the 2010 Hurling All Stars versus the 2011 Hurling All Stars. The 2010 All Stars defeated the 2011's by one point.
IFHYL President, Con Lyons expresses his appreciation and thanks to all the IFHYL who came out to play and witness this historic event in the annals of the San Francisco GAA and to all those that participated and supported the IFHYL during the year.
All the IFHYL Board are looking forward to another successful year in 2012 with continued games for our young Footballers, Hurlers and Camogie players
See you at the games in 2012.
IFHYL Board
P.S. Thanks to Noreen Lynch for providing the following photographs of the All Star games.

To all girls who have been registered with the IFHYL over the last two years, we are organizing travel for the first ever San Francisco Girls Youth Team heading to Ireland to play in the 2012 Feila tournament.
We will be holding an informational meeting at the Irish Cultural Center on Tuesday April 19 at 7:30. To be eligible your daughter will need to be U-14 in 2012 (her date of birth is AFTER January 1, 1998 or she turn 14 AFTER January 1, 2012). If your daughter will still be a U-12 in 2012 and you are interested, please attend. If we need to expand our roster to add girls, we will offer a spot to one of our U-12 girls from that year.
If you cannot attend or have any questions, please contact Bill Sicord at 415-850-7569 or Frank McAlorum at 415-260-4560.
